Sunderland
play at Stadium Of Light which holds
over 49,000. The Black Cats have had a real
overhaul just recently, with a great deal of investment from
former playing legend, Niall Quinn. With the appointment of
Roy Keane, and an influx of new playing talent, Sunderland will
be looking to consolidate their position in the Premiership
and maybe even a shot at a European place. Below, we have listed
all the hotels close to St James Park, listed
by distance from the ground.
Stadium
Of Light is a 15 minute walk from the Sunderland
Station. From the train station, exit between W.H.Smith
and the bakery, turn left and walk down High St West and then
turn left again and walk up Fawcett St to the Wear Bridge. From
here you can see stadium as it is on raised ground. Simply cross
the bridge, and turn left into Millennium Way. The Metro stations
called the Stadium of Light and St.
Peter's both serve the stadium. Both stations are only
a few minutes walk from the stadium, but away supporters should
alight at St Peter's Station as that is closer
to their entrance. After the game, the Stadium of Light
metro station only operates Northbound and St Peter's
metro station only operates Southbound.
